When to Use Broadcast vs Send Education vs Scheduled
Overview
Informed Medical offers three main ways to communicate with residents and responsible parties: Broadcast, Send Education, and Scheduled. Each serves a different purpose. Understanding when to use each ensures communication is timely, appropriate, and properly documented.
Send Education
Best for: Resident-specific communication tied to care.
Use Send Education when you need to send education related to:
-
A resident’s diagnoses or treatments
-
A change in condition
-
A care conference follow-up
-
A specific risk disclosure
This option allows you to select one or multiple residents and send education directly to their listed contacts. It is personalized and tied to the resident’s care information. All engagement is tracked and documented back into the chart.
Use this for individual or targeted communication.
Broadcast
Best for: Facility-wide updates or general announcements.
Use Broadcast when you need to communicate the same message to all residents or a large group, such as:
-
Outbreak notifications
-
Policy updates
-
Weather or emergency notices
-
General facility announcements
Broadcast is not tied to diagnoses or treatment changes. It is used for operational or informational communication that applies broadly.
Use this when the message is the same for everyone.
Scheduled
Best for: Ongoing, automatic compliance communication.
Scheduled replaces what was previously known as Automatic Reports.
Use Scheduled to ensure education is sent automatically based on:
-
Admission
-
Assessment changes
-
Quarterly ISO reviews
-
Significant changes
These reports send in the background and does not require manual action once configured. It helps ensure consistent baseline education and documentation.
This should be setup during the onboarding process and can be updated at any time in the Settings tab of your account.
